United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General Patricia Kaliati has told party supporters that State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima has emerged victorious in the corruption case involving well-known business man Zuneth Sattar.
Kaliati said this when addressing UTM supporters who are holding a street parade to celebrate Chilima’s freeing in the case.
In her speech Kaliati said Chilima has not been pardoned in the case.
“Okhululukidwa amachoka ku ndende, mtsogoleri wathu wawina mlandu,” said Kaliati while attracting ululation from supporters who are taking part in the parade.
Judge Redson Kapindu announced the discontinuation of the case yesterday following a request by the state through Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Masauko Chamkakala to have the case dropped.
The case led to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera suspending all delegated duties to Chilima two years ago.
Meanwhile, Chakwera has started delegating duties to Chilima.
