One of Tonse Alliance government partners, Thomas Wezzie Kaumba who is also president for Umodzi party, has reminded President Lazarus Chakwera that despite achieving some progress in construction –related projects, security, and human rights, the president needs to come up with urgent and practical measures to end hunger and high prices of commodities.

Kaumba also said that if the president addresses these two issues, he will have a walkover in next year’s polls.

He concluded that he feels like President Chakwera will win again while discrediting opposition party leaders, including DPP president Peter Mutharika he do not have anything to offer Malawians.

President Chakwera on Tuesday indicated that he will continue distributing food to hunger-stricken families, social cash transfers, and constituency development money to improve the lives of people, stressing that will win again.

But on Sunday, at Njamba Park in Blantyre former President Peter Mutharika hit the Tonse Alliance for failing to govern the country, telling his supporters that DPP would win next year’s elections.
