The Lilongwe City Council has rebuffed the allegations which says staff of the council share the property they have seized from people selling goods in inappropriate places.
The Mayor of Lilongwe, Mr. Richard Banda, said this when the Citizen Alliance held a meeting with the council to discuss what the council is doing on some of the problems in the city, which the organization said to take action.
According to Mr. Banda, the goods he seizes from people selling goods in inappropriate places are kept and sold at auction.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Citizen Alliance, Mr Baxton Nkhoma, said he is satisfied that the council is trying to solve some of the problems that he told them to take action.
