The Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD) says it will not form a political alliance ahead of the 2025 polls because it believes it can win solo.

Treasurer General for the party, Iman Khan, says other leaders in the country have already failed Malawians, hence people’s hope and trust is on the party’s leader, Dr. Cassim Chilumpha.

Speaking during the party’s rally in Balaka when welcoming, into its fold, 14 new members who say have defected from the People’s Party (PP) Khan mentioned selfishness among leaders characterized by rhetoric politics, as the factors that has led Malawi into social-economic turmoil.

However, Former PP Provincial Chairman for the eastern region, Muhomed Matola, says he has joined the ADD due to the political experience which Dr. Chilumpha has, which qualifies him to be the right leader the country needs.
