Former President Dr. Joyce Banda who is also founder of Peoples Party(PP) has confirmed recovery of her facebook account which was hacked by unknown hackers.

In a statement made available to faceofmalawi, the former President hailed Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) for swift response on the matter.

The former President went further to condemn the people behind the hacking of her facebook account.

“As all of you may have noticed, my cover and profile pictures were tampered with.

“It is with profound dismay that I condemn the conduct of unscrupulous people who hacked this page,” wrote Banda

She added: “Against the existing Cyber Crime laws currently operational in the country, these people went ahead to break the law. I believe that the law is going to take its course.

“I would like to thank MACRA officials and my office for reporting this unfortunate act and for the successful recovery of the page.”
