BAKHRESA Malawi Limited is demanding farmers in the country to grow more soya beans for its Subsidiary Solvent Extraction and Cooking Oil Refinery Company as the company will soon start manufacturing oil in the country.
The development has revealed during the stakeholder’s visit to the construction site in Blantyre to appreciate progress made on the project
Speaking in an interview with the company’s Managing Director Abubakar Bakhresa confirmed the development, saying it will help the local farmers to generate more income and the country will earn more forex through the export of cooking oil and soya cakes which is feed for livestock as they are currently on high demand on the international market.
However, the company will be procuring 150 000 tones of soya beans every harvest season and create more jobs for about 500 Malawians.
