The Federal high court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the alleged Naira abuse case against celebrity bartender Pascal Okechukwu known Cubana Chief Priest.

On April 17, 2024 this year, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a three-court charges against Cubana Chief Priest over alleged naira abuse.

Cubana Chief Priest was alleged to have sprayed and tempered with the naira notes during a social event at the Eko Hotel in Lagos. When the charges were read to him, the nightlife promoter pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of N10 million.

On May 2, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN) the defence counsel, informed the court that the parties were exploring settlement and had applied that the matter be settled in under the provisions of section 14(2) of the EFCC Act.

Ojukwu then applied for a withdraw of the preliminary objection, and since there was no objection from the prosecution, the court granted the request.

The case adjourned the case until June 5 for a settlement report.

When the matter was called for hearing today June 5, the defence wrote a latter seeking an adjournment of case.
