A 23-year-old woman from Chingola’s Kabundi area has died after being stabbed by her boyfriend. The incident occurred around 20:45 hours along Ntanda Street in Kabundi East. Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba confirmed the incident to RISE FM NEWS, identifying the deceased as Mubanga Kangwa.
Mr. Mweemba explained that the suspect, identified as King Katanga from the Soweto area, visited his girlfriend. After some time, the two left the house with the intention of escorting the boyfriend. Along the way, they had an argument that escalated, resulting in the victim being stabbed multiple times.
The victim shouted for help, and neighbors rushed to the scene, finding her lying on the ground with cuts on both hands, her left leg, and multiple deep cuts on her stomach with protruding intestines. Mr. Mweemba stated that the deceased was rushed to Kabundi Clinic and later referred to Nchanga North General Hospital, where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and pronounced dead at around 03:30 hours.
Police discovered that the victim had stab wounds on both hands and her stomach, with protruding intestines, allegedly inflicted by a sharp instrument. The suspect, King Katanga, who was on the run, has since been apprehended. Meanwhile, neighbors who spoke to RISE FM NEWS have alleged that a knife was used to stab the deceased.
