Tragedy struck along the Monze-Chisekesi road at Gonde turnoff in Zambia when an unidentified pedestrian lost their life in a suspected hit-and-run incident.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, has confirmed tha accident and said the pedestrian met his fate on yesternight between 20:00 and 21:00 hours.

According to Daka, emains unknown.

it is reported that he driver responsible for the accident fled the scene without being identified.

The impact resulted in fatal head injuries, and the victim died on the spot.

Their remains have been taken to Monze Mission Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem examination and police are hunting for the driver.
