Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader, Peter Mutharika, arrived in the country this afternoon through the Kamuzu International Airport.

Mutharika was returning from the United States where, according to reports, he had come to seek medical attention for an undisclosed illness. Other reports, on the other hand, have indicated that Mutharika went as a way of meeting one of his Green Card conditions, another issue that has raised controversy.

Mutharika was welcomed by various officials of the DPP and thousands of party supporters.

In a brief talk, Mutharika spat fire at the Peoples’ Party claiming that it is a party without vision whose only development he has seen is the Cash-gate scandal.

Meanwhile, Mutharika is expected to address journalists tomorrow on various issues including his Green Card controversy, the rumored DPP-MCP alliance.
