Information reaching this publication indicates that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) is scheduled to meet on Friday at the party headquarters in Lilongwe.
This will be the first meeting since the death of the party’s President Dr. Saulos Chilima through a plane crash on June 10, 2024.
UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Njawala, UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati is today scheduled to meet the party’s Vice President Michael Usi ahead of the meeting.
The two are scheduled to discuss the agendas of the Friday’s meeting.
