Former United Democratic Front (UDF) Atupele Muluzi, has expressed interest to contest for the position of party president during an elective convention scheduled for 3rd August this year.

UDF Secretary General, Kandi Padambo, has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Padambo, Muluzi has collected nomination papers to contest for the position and become the UDF torchbearer during the 2025 presidential election.

Muluzi resigned from the post of UDF Presidency and frontline politics just after the fresh Presidential polls.

He left the leadership in the hands of Lilian Patel.
