Police inspector general, Loti Dzonzi, who allegations went flying that he had resigned from the police service for some undisclosed reasons if not for the President’s preference of his deputy, Nelson Bophani, has indicated that he has not resigned from his post as police IG.

Yesterday, the social media was awash with reports that the police IG had resigned but the President had rejected his resignation claiming it was wrongly timed as there was a security lapse in the country and the country was approaching make or break elections.

Dzonzi, however, has dismissed all that and has said that he has just been on a leave from work because he is sick and not for any special reason.

His remarks were concurred by the minister of home affairs and internal security, Uladi Mussa, who said that it was not true that Dzonzi has resigned.
