The family of late Dr. Saulos Chilima has said it will from now onward not allow anyone to film the resting place of the Malawi’s former Vice President.
The family representative, Joshua Varela said this during the 40 days memorial mass for Chilima who died in a plane crash together with eight others on June 10, 2024.
“Pempho kwa anthu nose, inde tikuziwa kuti m’bale wathu anali wachiwiri kwa msogoleli wa dziko nde siku ndi tsiku tikumalandila anthu kufuna kuzajambula manda a m’bale wathu, kuyambila lero zimenezo zithe. Musiyeni m’bale wathu apume mumtendele,” said Valera.
He also spoke against spreading false information about the death of Chilima.
Valera said Malawians must foster patriotism for the sake of developing the country.
Speaking at the same event, Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V said Chilima’s death will continue to have an effect on the country but called for peace to prevail in the midst of everything that is happening.
Chilima alongside eight other people died in a military plane crash on June 10, in Viphya Highlands in Mzimba District in the Northern Region en route to Mzuzu Airport.
