A tragic incident has occurred at Cobbe Barracks in Zomba, where a soldier is fighting for his life after a brutal attack by thieves that resulted in the death of his wife.
The assault took place last night at the soldier’s residence within the barracks. A source within the barracks confirmed the wife’s death and the soldier’s severe injuries.
Both Major Kelvin Mlelemba, spokesperson for the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), and Patrick Mussa, spokesperson for police in the eastern region, have requested additional time before providing further details on the situation.
