In Phodogoma village, Traditional Authority Ngolongoliwa, Thyolo, a multitude of mourners assembled to pay their final respects to retired Malawi Defence Force Major General Buxton Titus Namwali over the weekend.
Leading the MDF representation was Major Francis Kakhuta, commander of the Marine Forces.
General Namwali, who passed away at 86 after a brief illness on Wednesday, retired from his distinguished career in 1979. He is survived by his wife and six children.
Notable attendees included retired MDF General Henry Odilo, joining in honoring the late leader’s legacy.
