The newly elected Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila has apologized to supporters for dumping the party 5 years ago.
Kabwila dumped MCP and joined United Transformation Movement (UTM) of late Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.
Speaking after emerging victorious at the ongoing MCP elective conference in Lilongwe Kabwila said her victory has taught her many lessons.
“First of all let me apologize to MCP supporters that I left the party but it was not my wish. This victory has taught me that when there are differences, its not for someone to leave but rather time for dialogue.
“Am very thankful to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for not holding grudges and am dedicating this victory to him by hitting the ground running,”said Kabwila.
She also hailed her predecessor Ezekiel Ching’oma for serving the party well during his tenure of office.
