Well-known musician Skeffa Chimoto, popularly known as the jamming machine has officially announced his move to join frontline politics ahead of the 2025 polls.
Chimoto is scheduled to contest as Member of Parliament for Nkhotakota South East Constituency on Malawi Congress Party (MCP) ticket.
The musician has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Chimoto, he has been forced by people from his village.
“Pressure idachokera kumudzi kwathu komweko ndiye poyamba ndimakana koma nditalingalira ndidadzifunsa kuti bwanji anthu onsewa asankha ine?” said Chimoto.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is scheduled to hold the general election in September next year.
