President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is tomorrow scheduled to leave the country for Mozambique for a two days state visit.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has confirmed of the development in a statement, saying the trip is per invitation of Mozambique’s President.

The plane carrying Chakwera is expected to depart Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) at 4pm tomorrow.

“President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will undertake a two day official Visit to Maputo in the Republic of Mozambique from Wednesday the 14th of August to Thursday the 15th of August 2024,” reads part of the statement.

While in Mozambique, Chakwera will hold bilateral talks with President Filipe Nyusi.

Chakwera will then proceed to Zimbabwe for the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) summit which is scheduled for Saturday.
