The leader of the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) party, Enock Chihana, has stated that the party has not made any decisions regarding the coalition with other parties for the 2025 elections.
Chihana announced that their major meeting will take place on September 6 in Lilongwe, where they will discuss the party’s future in relation to the upcoming elections next year.
He added that they will encourage people to compete for various positions within the party while respecting democratic principles.
Chihana’s remarks come following AFORD’s attendance at Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) convention last weekend, where DPP also invited the United Transformation Movement (UTM) and former ally United Democratic Front (UDF).
This has sparked rumors about potential alliances for the upcoming 2025 elections.
