A police officer identified as Twalick Mpaweni is in custody in Zomba for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in exchange for her release from cell.
The victim name withheld was arrested for allegedly stealing clothes but was allegedly freed at night after offering her body to the officer.
The girl took a police flag with her after release, and upon being questioned, she revealed that she got it for warmth.
She revealed further that Mpaweni released her after offering her body to the suspect.
The matter occurred in 2023 and was investigated by the Independent Commission Complaints Commission.
