Two suspected mpox patients admitted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre have tested negative for mpox.

In press statement signed by Secretary for Health Dr. Samson Mndolo, the confirmation has been made by health practitioners from Malawi Liverpool Trust and Ministry of Health after having a laboratory test for the outbreak.

However, the ministry has remided thee general public that Malawi is at a great risk of Mpox for being a global threat.

Ministry is also advising people to continue observing prevention measures including physical contact with someone who has the disease or contaminated materials, regular hand washing with soap and reporting early to the nearest health facility if one experiences early symptoms of any disease including mpox(Flu, Fever, Chills and body aches), reads the statement
