In Chiradzulu District, the police have arrested a 32-year-old man, Chisomo Kangole, for allegedly killing his 9-year-old son. The motive behind the crime is that Kangole wanted to receive a compensation of K300,000 from his employers.

Police spokesperson in the district, Cosmas Kagulo, said that the deceased, Takondwa (may his soul rest in peace), was a Standard 3 student at Goleka Primary School.

Kagulo reported that the body of the deceased was discovered on August 27 of this year in the village of Maloya under the jurisdiction of Likoswe, and the child had been missing for three days.

Following a medical examination, it was found that the child died from severe blood loss, and the body had large wounds on the neck and face.

The suspect admitted to killing the child with a knife in order to receive compensation from his employers at Easy Pack, where he was supposed to get K300,000.

The suspect will appear before court soon.
