Well-known Malawi’s afro pop star Dan Lu,real name Dan Lufani has retired from music barely weeks after releasing his ‘Back to My Roots’ album.
‘Part of Life’ announced this through a statement posted on his official Facebook page seen by this publication hours ago.
In the post, the musician accused music promoters and content creators of demanding financial favours from him.
“Ndasiya kuimba! Inu Zoona mukusiya album ya nzeru ngati imeneyi nkumakapopa ma Bubblegum.
“Ati anzako akumalipila kuti tiapopele nyimbozao ine zopusa zimenezo sindipanga nao ndazituluka,” wrote Dan Lu.
The post has attracted mixed reactions among his fans with many claiming that the musician is doing this as public stunt for his new album.
