The new catch in the United Transformation Movement (UTM) Dalitso Kabambe has asked President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to quickly release a report on the cause of the plane crash that claimed lives of former President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others.

The call comes amid conflicting information from government with the President admitting of receiving the report on the accident and on the other hand government spokesperson Moses Kunkuyu denying receiving the report.

Writing on his official facebook page Kabambe said any delay on the matter will create room for more speculations.

“I am deeply concerned about the conflicting narratives surrounding the accident report on the tragic death of our Vice President and founding president, the Late Dr. Saulous Chilima. After listening to the president’s remarks, it was indicated that the report had been submitted; however, a subsequent government statement claimed the report is yet to be submitted. This inconsistency is troubling and erodes public trust in our government.

“Furthermore, the media, including DW TV, is consistently reporting that the report has indeed been submitted. The involvement of the Germans in seeking answers only adds to the confusion, as it indirectly challenges the government’s narrative regarding the report’s status,” wrote Kabambe.

He added: “I urge the government to approach this matter with the seriousness it deserves. It is essential for the president to clarify the situation by making the report public, given his acknowledgment of its existence. Transparency in this matter is crucial to maintaining credibility and trust with the public. Any perceived withholding of information may lead to further speculation regarding the motives behind such actions.

“In the interest of truth and accountability, I call for the immediate release of the accident report to dispel any doubts and restore faith in our leadership.”
