A 43-year-old Levison Chikopa of Jordan 2 Village under Traditional Authority (T/A) Ganya in Ntcheu district is in police custody at Nkhata-Bay for allegedly killing a 41-year-old Memory Chirwa in T/A Fukamalaza in the district.
Nkhata-Bay police publicist, Sergeant Kondwani James has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Kondwani, the deceased was doing rice business and was robbed of her money before being killed.
He further said the suspect who was doing some piece works at the deceased house revealed that they killed her together with his accomplice popularly known as Mpezepeze who is currently at large.
“On August 29, 2024, Chikopa who has been charged with robbery and murder, led the police to where they dumped Chirwa’s body within Kaulambwe area in Nkhata-Bay,” said James.
