A man identified as Joseph Chaino of Chimoga village in Hanjalika chiefdom, Mazabuka in Zambia, is on the run after it was discovered that he had impregnated a 15-year-old of the same area.

The sexual abuse incident was reported to Chivuna Police Post on 28th August, 2024 by the mother to the girl.

Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, notes that the girl’s mother had observed some pregnancy signs in her daughter, hence taking her to the clinic for tests.

Daka says the medical practitioner diagnosed that the girl was 3 months pregnant.

When questioned, the girl named Chaino as the one responsible for the pregnancy, stating that they have been having a sexual relationship, with the last encounter occurring in June, 2024
