Police Traffic Officer Tanerson Tsamikuta has confirmed that four people lost their lives in two separate motorcycle accidents within the past 24 hours in Thyolo District.
The first incident occurred on Saturday evening when a minibus collided with a motorcycle at Thyolo Post Office along the Limbe-Thyolo-Limbuli road.
The collision claimed the lives of Andrew Mapoko, a 20-year-old motorcyclist, and his 32-year-old sister, Ethel Mponda.
The two victims were traveling towards Nambala-1 side. They were residents of Samikwa village in Traditional Authority (TA) Nkalo, Chiradzulu.
In a separate tragedy on Sunday, two additional motorcyclists were killed when a company vehicle struck them near Chamasowa Primary School in the Thunga area of the district.
