A former security officer employed by PRASA in South Africa, is facing a total of 145 charges, including kidnapping and rape.
The accused person who has been identified as Sipho Lucas Phiri, worked for PRASA from 2020 until his arrest in 2023, after which his employment was terminated by the company.
Reports indicate that Phiri specifically targeted women going to work in the early mornings in the Thembisa area.
He would allegedly approach these women with a gun, force them into a company vehicle, and then transport them to secluded areas where he would commit acts of sexual assault.
