Neno First Grade Magistrate Court has refused to grant bail to a 37 year–old police officer, Chisomo Hauya, who is suspected of having sex with a 16-year-old boy.
The state it is expected to bring six witnesses on September 26 this year.
Lawyer Hanif Aufi, who is representing the suspects in the case, asked the court to grant bail because the suspect been detained for more than 48 hours before taking him to court.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Magret Khobiri has said that the court has finished hearing the case based on the fact that the major issues concerning the police personnel are decided by the headquarters of the police department.
Chisomo Hauya, who hails comes from Kwataine in Ntcheu district, was arrested on 27 August this year.
