The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) says the prices of petroleum products have not been adjusted.
MERA’s statement comes amid panic among motorists in Blantyre and some parts of the country queuing for the fuel in pump station.
This happened as a result of rumours hovering on the social media claiming that after fuel prices will go up on Wednesday night.
In a statement MERA indicated that the prices per litre remain K2,530 for Petrol and K2,734 for Diesel with Paraffin going at K1,910.
MERA has since advised the general public to disregard any information to the contrary.
