Information reaching this publication indicates that Member of Parliament for Blantyre City East Constituency John Bande has dumped the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
According to information at hand, Bande who once served as Deputy Minister under President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will be contesting on Independent ticket in the 2025 Parliamentary polls.
When contacted for comment Bande could not deny of confirm the rumours.
Bande joined MCP just after the 2020 fresh Presidential polls.
Effort to talk to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) spokesperson Jessie Kabwila proved futile on the matter.
