Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has fired Member of Parliament for Nsanje Lalanje as Director of Elections.
The firing comes barely a day after Ganda attended a rally organized by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera in the lowershire where she pleaded with the President to assist hunger stricken families in her constituency.
DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has confirmed of the development, saying Mutharika has appointed Ganda as Presidential Advisor with immediate effect.
Ganda was elected as Director of Elections during the party’s elective conference last month.
Effort to talk to Ganda proved futile.
