Health Activist Maziko Matemba has urged government through the Ministry of Health to raise awareness among the people of Mangochi and the public about the importance of vaccinating their children to prevent the spread of measles.
His remarks come after the Ministry of health announced that 3 people in the district have been diagnosed with measles.
In an interview with local media, Matemba emphasized that measles is preventable and can be eradicated through vaccination.
Matemba pointed out that the disease could have been brought in from other districts, emphasising the need for vaccination to prevent its spread.
