A 25-year-old man from Kunterera Village in Dedza has tragically taken his own life by hanging, following a domestic dispute.
Reports indicate that the man’s wife refused to allow him to take some maize to give to another woman, with whom he was reportedly having an extramarital affair and had impregnated.
It is reported that , the man’s wife brought the matter to their marital counsellors (ankhoswe), which deeply upset the man.
Initially, he attempted to consume a local poison (chim’bulu), but was stopped by people nearby. However, he later disappeared and was found hanged in a garden.
The incident has shocked the local community, raising concerns about the ongoing challenges of infidelity and domestic conflict in the area.
The local authorities have urged people to seek help in dealing with personal issues rather than resorting to such extreme measures
