Information reaching this publication indicates former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) regional governor for Eastern Region Imran Mtenje is among the people are accompanying President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to United Nation General Assembly in New York.
His trip to USA comes barely two days after joining the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) in the capital Lilongwe.
According to information at hand, Mtenje was among the advance team.

President Chakwera is expected to leave the country today though Kamuzu International Airport in the capital Lilongwe.
