Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Justice Anabel Mtalimanja has dispelled rumours that the new electronic registration kit is intended to facilitate election rigging.
Justice Mtalimanja during an electoral stakeholders meeting on Monday in Neno District, emphasizing that the new technologically advanced system was borrowed from the National Registration Bureau (NRB).
According to Neno District Commissioner Elias Chiomba, it is important to educate people on how the new system works to avoid any suspicion.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will hold tripartite election on September 16, 2025.
