The ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) says it is yet to receive an official invitation to attend the elective convention of the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF).
MCP publicity secretary, Jessie Kabwira told the press that the party has learned the news through the media but is yet to receive official communication on the matter.
She, however, says the party will respond accordingly once the invitation gets into its fold.
Earlier this morning, chairperson for the United Democratic Front (UDF) elective conference, Aisha Mambo Adams, confirmed that the party has invited all political parties, including the MCP, to its convention, arguing it is a show of democracy.
UDF convention is set for October 1, 2024.
