Police in Balaka have arrested two suspects in connection with a violent robbery that left a businessman, Dyton Nasiyaya, severely injured.
Public relations officer for Balaka Police, Gladson M’bumpha has confirmed the arrest and he has identified the suspects as Edward Paudala, 30, and Kondwani Davie, 29,
According M’bumpha, the two allegedly attacked Nasiyaya at Kapasule Village on Monday, stabbing him in the head and robbing him of a bicycle and two mobile phones.
“Police apprehended the suspects shortly after the incident, recovering one cellphone and the stolen bicycle”,said M’bumpha
Nasiyaya is currently receiving treatment at Balaka District Hospital, with both of his eyes reportedly damaged in the brutal attack.
The police are continuing their investigation into the case as the two are in custody waiting for their trial soon.
