Miami, Florida USA— A two-year-old girl was found alone, wearing only a diaper, outside a South Beach building while her parents were at a nearby strip club.
Police have identified the parents as Daryl Lamont Lentz and Ciera Hurd, who had left the toddler and three other children — aged 12, 11, and 5 — unsupervised in a hotel room.
The family had traveled from Maryland to Florida to celebrate Lentz’s birthday. Police discovered the older children asleep in the room while the toddler was found outside. The parents were located after spending approximately 4.5 hours at Club Madonna, a well-known strip club in Miami.
Both Lentz and Hurd were arrested and now face four felony charges each.
They have since been released from jail, though their four children have been placed in state custody. The parents are currently allowed supervised contact with the children until their next court hearing.
The case has sparked concern and prompted discussions on child welfare and parental responsibility as the legal process unfolds.
