A 66-year-old man from Mwanachingwala chiefdom in Zambia, has been taken to court by his ex-wife for failing to adhere to the instructions in their divorce decree.

The husband only identified as Lishele, is charged with Contempt of Court for not paying a K250 monthly maintenance fee.

He is also charged with failing to hand over a farm, two cattle, four iron sheets, and a plot to his ex-wife, Precious Namakau after their separation in May 2024.

Lishele pleaded guilty to the charges, and the court fined him K166.80, if he fails to pay, he will face 40 days in jail.

He was also ordered to bring the four iron sheets to court on 30th October 2024, along with K750 for the three months of unpaid maintenance fees.

Additionally, the court enforced that the said plot be given to Namakau.
