The leader of the The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) , Sylvester Namiwa, stated that the 14 days he provided for the country’s leader to establish a dedicated committee to thoroughly investigate the details surrounding the aircraft accident in Chikangawa will end tomorrow.
He said if Dr. Lazarus Chakwera does not establish this committee by tomorrow, the organization will hold nationwide protests. Namiwa mentioned that the initial research conducted by experts from Germany did not address many of the questions that many Malawians have regarding the accident.
He stated that Dr. Chakwera should form a committee that includes members from the United Transformation Movement (UTM), families of the victims, as well as other experts from different countries.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information, Moses Kunkuyu, noted that they are still awaiting a final report from the German experts, which is expected to be released next year.
