The United Democratic Front (UDF) has rejected four individuals who wish to contest various positions during party’s convention due to non-compliance with the requirements set by the party.

Among them is Ken Ndanga, who is seeking to contest for the position of the party’s general secretary. According to a letter signed by the chairperson of the committee overseeing this assembly, Aisha Mambo Adams, Ndanga should not contest for any position as he is responding to legal charges in court.

Additionally, Ibrahim Swankie, who wants to run for the position of deputy leader of the party, is disqualified because he has not been a member of the party for the required five years.

The party is set to hold convention on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The Malawi Congress Party (MCP), the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), and other parties have already held their conventions in preparation for the 2025 general elections.
