Police in Chileka have arrested 57-year-old Leman John on suspicion of killing 49-year-old Inessie James with a stone.

The conflict began when John allegedly was paid by James K2,000 because her goats were destroying crops in his field.

According to police spokesperson Jonathan Phillipo, the dispute escalated, resulting in John striking James on the head with a stone.

James was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she later died while receiving treatment.

John, who comes from Mpenda village, T/A Kapeni in Blantyre district, is facing charges of murder.
