Police in Chiradzulu have arrested a identified as Fairness Gobola for allegedly assaulting her five-year-old daughter, by putting her in a sack and beating her severely after accusing her of eating the leftover dinner.

Spokesperson for Chiradzulu police Cosmas Kagulo, has confirmed the incident, stating that it took place on Monday evening this week in Matandika village.

“On the day of the incident, the suspect left home without providing any food and went to Tomasi market to look for work. After Feeling hungry, the child ate the leftover food which was meant for dinner.

When the suspect discovered this, she put the child in a sack and began beating her,” said Kagulo.

The incident has shocked the community, with many calling for strict measures to protect children from abuse.

Police investigations are underway, and the public is encouraged to report any signs of child abuse to prevent such acts.
