Former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi has come out of his cocoon to comment on the pandemonium that erupted in the United Democratic Front (UDF) following the invitation of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to the elective conference.

Speaking at the UDF elective conference Muluzi denied rumours that he is the one in the forfront destroying the party for inviting MCP officials to grace the elective conference.

“Anthu ambiri mwakhala mukukamba kuti ine, UDF President Liliani Patel komanso Convention Chairperson Aisha Adams ndiamene tikufuna kusokoneza convention ya UFD poitana MCP zimenezo sizoona ayi.

“Chipani cha UDF chimasatila fundo za democracy ndipo chimayenela kuitana ku convention chipani chilichonse chomwe chidavomelezedwa ndi office ya regisrar of political parties in the country,” said Muluzi.

Muluzi also went further to condemn the insults directed at the chairperson of the elective conference Aisha Adams who due to the pressure resigned.

Muluzi has since urged all candidates who will be elected in various positions in the party to work tirelessly ahead of the 2025 polls.
