Senegal Football Association has sacked national tea’ manager Alilou Cisse after caaching the the team for nine years.

The team has parted ways with Cisse barely nine days before they host the Flames in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Dakar.

The Senegalese FA emergency committee met yesterday (Tuesday ) where a decision not to renew the coach’s contact was made following a directive from that country’s Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Khady Diane Gaye.

Cisse took the charge as head coach for Teranga Lions in 2015 and his longevity in role helped the team as Africa’s top ranked side for over four years.

Meanwhile, in Malawi, fans have taken to social media to urge the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) to consider hiring Cisse as a replacement for current coach Patrick Mabedi, who has faced criticism following the team’s recent poor performances.
