A 20-year-old girl has been arrested for concealing a pregnancy and abandoning her baby in a school toilet where she studies. The girl was in Form 4 at Kanjuchi Secondary School in Mzimba district.
According to police spokesperson MacFarlane Mseteka, the girl, along with a relative, is receiving assistance at Mkoma small hospital and has been advised to go to Nkhamenya mission hospital for further assistance.
Mseteka stated that the girl will respond to the charges as soon as she is discharged from the hospital.
The baby was saved, and the child is still alive.
