Nkhunga Magistrate court at Dwangwa in Nkhotakota has convicted and sentenced a 45 year-old man to 12 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling 15 year-old girl.
State prosecutor Mickeas Chatsira identified the convict as Richman Chikula, who committed the offence on 24 September 2024 in his toilet.
According to Chatsira, Richman’s wife heard screams coming from the latrine, when she went to investigate, she discovered that it was the girl crying while her husband was sexually assaulting her.
It is reported that, the victim went to Richman’s house to watch movie, during the movie, the girl stepped out to relieve herself, and Richman followed her, leading to defile her.
Richman Chikula hails from Lawekha Village Traditional Authority Kanyenda in the District.
