Mourning period is over for former Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka as he is now discharging his office duties.

After losing the SG post to Richard Chimwendo Banda at the party’s elective conference two months ago, Mkaka went into hibernation, abandoning all party duties.

His silence attracted mixed reaction with many linking him to a move to the newly formed Peoples Development Party (PDP) of Kondwani Nankhumwa but Mkaka denied the said rumours.

To substantiate his denial Mkaka was on Saturday spotted welcoming President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera from United States of America where he attended this year’s United Nation General Assembly (UNGA).

Wrote Mkaka: “Lero ndinakalandira mtsogolera wadziko lino paulendo wake wobwerera kumudzi kuno kuchoka ku UNGA!
With Dr Laz mpaka 2030 wooo!”

As this is not enough, on Sunday Mkaka attended a rally organised by the new SG Richard Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government and Culture at Mgona in Lilongwe.

Mkaka one of the most trusted lawmakers for Chakwera before the party’s elective conference.
